National Nurses Week – Recognizing Franchisee and Nurse Rosey Malkin

May 6, 2019

In honor of National Nurses Week this month, we would like to acknowledge the vital role nurses play in our society.

Specifically, we’d like to celebrate Rosey Malkin, who runs Homewatch CareGivers of Beachwood, OH with her husband Eric. Rosey and Eric have taken advantage of Rosey’s background in nursing to serve more than 1,000 families in Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties.

Rosey is currently the Director of Nursing for her Homewatch CareGivers location as well as the location in Westlake, Ohio, which she and Eric co-own with another couple. Rosey’s experience helps her evaluate and develop a plan of care for her clients as well as effectively communicate with doctors. Depending on the complexity of the case, Rosey even goes to the hospital to coordinate the care needed for a patient on the hospital level, demonstrating her dedication to her clients and her business.

Rosey says her greatest satisfaction in running her business is being able to make a difference one patient at a time in the quality of the home care that Homewatch CareGivers delivers to their clients. Whether through helping with a hospital discharge, providing skilled home care or ordering medical equipment to help a client become more independent, Rosey always goes the extra mile.

“I am always available to my staff when situations arise or if a hospice patient is in need of end-of-life care,” Rosey says. “I have no problem going and being that support for the client, caregiver and family.”

Rosey’s efforts were recently recognized when she and Eric won the “One Hour at a Time” award at the Homewatch CareGivers’ annual conference and awards ceremony. This award highlighted their achievement of increasing their caregiving services by over 10,000  hours in 2018 with a compassionate, knowledgeable and thoughtful approach to care.

“These awards identify not only franchisees who are operating their businesses at a high level, but also those who work to elevate the entire franchise system while making a positive impact in their communities,” said Jennifer Tucker, COO of Homewatch CareGivers. “Eric and Rosey are a shining example of that commitment to excellence.”

In her free time, Rosey is an avid golfer and tennis player, as well as a gardener. She also uses cooking as a stress release and loves to try complex recipes.

We thank Rosey for her commitment and dedication to her clients, her business and her passion. This month, we urge you to show appreciation for all of the nurses in your life, and to recognize the important role they play in providing safe and effective home health care.
