3 Things to Love About Franchising

February 7, 2018

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it, keep looking. Don’t settle.” ~ Steve Jobs

It’s the season for love! There are many reasons that franchise business owners love that they chose to run their own company and today we want to share why so many people choose franchising.

  1. Being the boss. Maybe you have great leadership skills but have hit the ceiling at the company where you work and are ready to be challenged a little. Owning a franchise allows you to be in charge not just of your own destiny while helping others succeed as your employees. You call the shots, set the tone, the buck stops with you and so on. It’s really a bottom line call: to a large degree, you control how much money you can and do make and what you do with it.
  2. Paint by the numbers. That is, when you open a franchise business—as opposed to starting from scratch independently—you get access to a proven successful model. You’ll have plenty of learning to do as a new owner because no matter what business you were in before, you most certainly did not do both marketing and accounting or sales and hiring. You don’t need to be learning the best way to do each one, but rather you get to rely on the support of your corporate partner while you build up your business in your local community. Being part of a franchise takes the guesswork out of running your own business.
  3. Ya gotta have friends. Not only do you have the backing of a support center or franchisor, you are now part of a large network of fellow franchisees. These folks can provide a wealth of everything from business know how to good old-fashioned moral support when you are getting started, hit a rough patch or have something to celebrate. You can connect during conferences or other gatherings put together by the franchisor, as well as reach out when you see them doing something you want to know more about.

If you aren’t loving what you do, consider owning a franchise business. Click here to watch some of our owners share more about their businesses.
