Franchisee Turns Personal Experience Into Legacy Business
July 23, 2019
When Jim Nacchia and his wife decided to open a business, they recalled how difficult it had been to find care for Jim’s 93-year-old mother. Jim and his siblings had been handling the bulk of their mother’s care, and while searching for caregivers, the siblings had a few less-than-positive experiences. This inspired Jim to look into opening his own home care franchise, as he wanted to help people by providing better care.
Sparked by the experiences he had searching for care for his mother, Jim opened Homewatch CareGivers of Wilmington in Wilmington, Delaware. Truly a family business, Jim operates his Homewatch CareGivers location with his wife and two adult sons.
Jim credits the successful set up of his family’s location to his personal experiences and the guidance that the franchise support center provided. He also feels proud that owning and running his Homewatch CareGivers business means there is an opportunity to leave a legacy for his children.
“My greatest satisfaction is leaving behind a company that actually helps others and is owned and operated by my children,” said Jim.
Jim says finding home care for their mother made a world of difference in her quality of life and gave the siblings a chance to go back to being the children instead of the caregivers. Jim turned his experience with finding senior care for his mother into owning a Homewatch CareGivers franchise, where he helps others find the care they or their family members need.
